Todays thought :
Jesus is our “even Keel” The keel is the bottom-most longitudinal structural element on a boat. You might say it’s the bottom of the boat If one has an “even keel” that means the boat is floating in the water correctly and will have smooth sailing. Warm weather approaches and many will take their boats out of dry dock storage and hit the water once again. Gods word is our warm weather peace and “Even Keel” in the midst of a raging winds in a sea of chaos. These words of Psalm 23 have always helped me. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. These words of comfort are never so much assuring, as they are today. In a world of chaos and fear that would make one struggle to keep “an even keel” I can say that Christ is the anchor of our ship. He ever grounds us and keeps us from spiritually capsizing in the midst of the storms of life. Jesus calms the seas that would otherwise over turn our Spirits. Climb into the “good boat Jesus “. Let the author and finisher of your faith show you peace in the storms of life.
